On the international side, the delegation included Mr. Saadi Salama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Vietnam and Head of the Diplomatic Corps; and Ambassadors, Chargé d'affaires, and Heads of Representatives of international organizations in Hanoi. In his speech, General Secretary and President To Lam recalled that on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, solemnly proclaiming to the world the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. From a backward economy, Vietnam has risen to become one of the top 40 leading economies, with a trade volume among the top 20 countries in the world, and is an important link in 16 free trade agreements (FTAs) connecting with 60 key economies in the region and globally. From a country once surrounded and isolated, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 193 countries worldwide, has strategic partnerships and comprehensive partnerships with 30 countries, including all members of the United Nations Security Council, major powers, and is an active member of over 70 regional and international organizations. The General Secretary and President stated that, in the context of the global situation, there are opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, upholding the spirit of "self-reliance, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-strength, and national pride," taking national unity and sincere international solidarity as driving forces, strongly mobilizing the people's strength, and closely linking the Party's will with the people's aspirations as the foundation. The General Secretary and President emphasized that Vietnam will certainly enter a new era, an era of national progress, constantly striving and contributing even more to maintaining peace, stability, and development in the region and the world. The General Secretary and President expressed confidence that Vietnam, together with international partners, will overcome all challenges, seize opportunities, and work together to build a peaceful and sustainable developed world, shaping a just international political and economic order based on the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.
