Vietnam and Cambodia need to strengthen economic connectivity between the two economies and build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Welcoming Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Tea Seiha and the Royal Cambodian Army delegation on an official visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Cambodia's National Day, which is also the anniversary of the founding of the Royal Cambodian Army, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the important achievements that Cambodia has made over the past 70 years; believing that Cambodia will continue to gain many new and greater achievements in building a peaceful , stable and prosperous Cambodia.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with a good traditional friendship. The armies and people of the two countries have stood shoulder to shoulder in the fight against colonialism and imperialism, overthrowing the genocidal regime, bringing independence, freedom and happiness to the people of each country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and General Tea Seiha expressed their satisfaction with the comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Cambodia bilateral relationship, in which political cooperation plays a guiding role in the cooperative relationship between the two countries; economic and trade cooperation, connecting the two economies are growing rapidly; cooperation in the fields of education and training, culture, health, people-to-people exchange, etc. is receiving increasing attention.

Recalling the difficulties and losses that Vietnam had to go through to gain independence and freedom, including fighting against the invasion of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with Cambodia; always giving the highest support to the Cambodian People's Party (CPP); supporting a peaceful, stable, prosperous Cambodia, with an increasingly affirmed role and position in the region and the world.

Thanking Cambodia for its assistance and facilitation in searching for, gathering and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia, the Prime Minister hoped that Cambodia would coordinate with Vietnam to continue effectively implementing high-level agreements; continue to promote delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations; strengthen economic connectivity between the two economies; train human resources; build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border; continue to support and facilitate the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia, including the legal status of Khmer people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia; and make more positive contributions to the common development of the two countries.

General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia, thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the delegation; expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, people and army of Vietnam for helping Cambodia in the fight against the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, gaining national independence, as well as in the process of building and developing the country since then.

Informing Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh about the results of the talks between the two countries' Defense Ministers, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister said that the Cambodian Defense Ministry and the Minister personally will continue the tradition and foster good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Vietnam.

In particular, it is necessary to educate about traditions to help generations of people of the two countries, especially the young generation, to have a deeper understanding of the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia and to be more responsible in preserving and nurturing the relationship between the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the results of the talks between the two ministers; said that defense cooperation has always been one of the most important pillars of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship; affirmed that this cooperation can only be achieved on the foundation of trust and sincere cooperation, tested over time.

Emphasizing that Vietnam implements the "4 No's" defense policy, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always supports and creates the most favorable conditions and hopes that the two countries' armies will increase exchanges and sharing on strategic issues affecting each country's defense and security; promptly and effectively handle issues arising from the grassroots; actively contribute to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border; effectively coordinate and advise senior leaders of the two countries on military and defense issues, thereby continuing to consolidate the position of military-defense cooperation; contribute to deepening and fostering the friendship between the two nations, the two Parties and the two peoples, in a sincere and practical spirit.

On this occasion, through General Tea Seiha, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his regards to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Samdech Thipadi Hun Manet and other senior leaders and former leaders of Cambodia.
