Vietcombank has just increased its charter capital to 55,891 billion VND.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has just approved the increase of charter capital at Vietcombank from VND47,325 billion to VND55,891 billion. The form of capital increase is the issuance of shares to pay dividends from the remaining profits of 2019 and 2020, which was previously approved by Vietcombank's 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM). Specifically, Vietcombank plans to issue 856.5 million shares to pay dividends, corresponding to an issuance rate of 18.1%. It is expected that after the successful issuance, Vietcombank's charter capital will increase from VND47,325 billion to VND55,891 billion, surpassing VietinBank and BIDV to become the bank with the second largest charter capital in the system, after VPBank. The increase in charter capital will create conditions for Vietcombank to expand its business operations, meet the capital needs of the economy and invest in transformation projects to improve the bank's management and operational capacity. On the stock market, at the end of the trading session on May 31, VCB shares decreased by 0.53% to VND94,000/share. Source
