VinFast aims for 80% localization by 2026

VinFast shares its roadmap to increase the localization rate to 80% by 2026 and plans to expand its supplier system to meet the need for increased production scale.

In order to share development opportunities and contribute to building a strong, united Vietnamese business community, joining hands for the Vietnamese automobile industry, VinFast will organize the Conference "Enhancing localization and developing the supplier system for VinFast" on June 9 in Hanoi with many attractive opportunities and commitments.

The event is an invitation to accompany and share development opportunities from VinFast with domestic enterprises, strategic partners in the journey to upgrade the domestic supply chain, with the goal of gradually turning Vietnam into an important center of automobile production and supporting industries in the region.

VinFast is expected to share its roadmap to increase the localization rate to 80% by 2026, as well as its plan to expand its supplier system to meet the demand for expanding production scale to up to 1 million vehicles per year for the domestic and export markets.

Specifically, VinFast will sign direct contracts with Vietnamese enterprises that have sufficient technical and technological capacity to participate in the company's supply chain. For enterprises that do not have sufficient technical, technological or financial capacity, if there is a need, VinFast will proactively connect with foreign partners to form a joint venture, thereby helping to transfer technology, provide technical support or investment capital.

In particular, VinFast commits to purchasing output products according to the agreed plan, creating peace of mind and a long-term development foundation for domestic suppliers.

Currently, VinFast is cooperating with nearly 700 domestic enterprises to provide components, materials, and equipment for production. However, to meet the plan to expand production to up to 1 million vehicles per year, serving the domestic market and export in the coming time, VinFast needs to develop a comprehensive and extensive domestic supplier system nationwide.

Speaking about the strategy of accompanying Vietnamese enterprises, Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Hai, Vice President of Vingroup and Deputy General Director of VinFast, said: “We believe that the desire to develop a world-class Vietnamese brand with global competitiveness is not only the wish of VinFast but also the wish of all Vietnamese enterprises. That is the reason why we have built a companion strategy to share development opportunities with the domestic supporting business community as well as unite to strive for the national automobile industry.”

As the leading automobile brand in Vietnam, VinFast delivered 9,588 electric vehicles in April 2025, bringing total sales since the beginning of the year to 44,691 vehicles, continuing to maintain the No. 1 position in automobile sales in the domestic market.

With its pioneering position and sustainable development strategy, VinFast not only builds a modern electric vehicle ecosystem, but also creates a national-scale supporting industrial production ecosystem.
