According to the agreement, the Kinshasa government will provide approximately 6,300 hectares of land free of charge to Vingroup for the development of a riverside mega-city, and will also cooperate in converting more than 300,000 gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles, deploying an electric bus system and charging stations operated by VinFast and GSM.
The mega-urban project is planned in the area between the southern bank of the Congo River and the north of N'djili International Airport, as part of the capital's expansion plan. It is a modern urban complex comprising residential areas, villas, apartments, hospitals, schools, shopping centers, hotels, entertainment areas, and future government offices.
Mr. Daniel Bumba Lubaki, Governor of Kinshasa City, emphasized his welcome to Vingroup's presence in Kinshasa. With international experience in urban development, housing, and infrastructure, he believes that the cooperation between the two sides will open a significant turning point, contributing to creating a more civilized, modern, and sustainable urban landscape for the people of Kinshasa.
According to a representative of VinGroup, the goal of the project is to build a model urban center, contributing to improving the quality of life, changing the face of the capital, and becoming a new symbol of development for Kinshasa.
In the field of green transportation, VinFast will provide electric vehicles, electric buses, and participate in supporting the construction of a rapid bus transit system. The city of Kinshasa is committed to allocating land for charging stations, promoting the green energy transition for the entire city.
