Vinh Phuc exempts tuition fees for the 2024 school year

On the afternoon of October 18th, the 17th term of the Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Council discussed and voted to approve six resolutions, including a resolution on tuition fee support for preschool children, primary and secondary school students, and students in the continuing education program at the high school level for the 2024-2025 school year. Vinh Phuc is the ninth province in the country to implement tuition fee exemption for preschool children and primary and secondary school students.

The Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Council has passed a resolution to support tuition fees for preschool children and students in the province for the 2024-2025 school year.

The beneficiaries of tuition fee support include preschool children and students attending private primary and secondary schools.

For preschool children attending preschools, primary and secondary school students, and students in continuing education programs at the high school level in public educational institutions who are required to pay tuition fees, 100% of the tuition fee payable for the 2024-2025 school year will be subsidized, as stipulated in Resolution No. 08/2024/NQ-HĐND dated July 11, 2024, of the Provincial People's Council, which regulates tuition fees for public educational institutions in Vinh Phuc province from the 2024-2025 school year.

Preschool children attending licensed non-public preschools and primary and secondary school students attending non-public educational institutions receive the same level of support as preschool children and primary and secondary school students attending public educational institutions of the same level and in the same region, with tuition fees applied as in public schools.

The support period is the actual number of school months in the 2024-2025 school year, but not exceeding 9 months. The funding for implementing this resolution comes from the provincial budget.

It is understood that the total estimated cost for 100% tuition fee support for preschool children, primary and secondary school students in public and private schools, and students in continuing education programs in the province during the 2024-2025 school year is approximately 142 billion VND.

From the following school years, Vinh Phuc will continue to provide tuition fee support for preschool children, primary and secondary school students, and students in continuing education programs at the high school level in the province according to the new tuition fee framework and stabilize the budget for the period 2025 - 2028.
