This year's forum, themed "Vietnam - Korea Cooperation in Developing High-Quality Human Resources in the New Era", attracted special attention from domestic and international delegates, leading Korean scholars, prestigious universities and international organizations, management agencies and enterprises. The forum is a bridge, creating a closer cooperation network between training institutions, enterprises and government agencies of the two countries in the fields of training and scientific research.
Speaking at the forum, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi affirmed that VKIST is a symbol of cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in the field of science and technology. Established based on the model of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) - Korea's leading public research institute. VKIST not only inherits the spirit of innovation and modern approach from Korea, but is also adjusted to suit the context and needs of Vietnam's socio -economic development.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi, Director of Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology shared at the Forum.
As Vietnam grows rapidly in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with significant advances in innovation and technological development in many areas - driven by the Government 's incentive policies and the dynamism of the private sector - nurturing human resources becomes especially important. Especially in the digital age and the rapid development of technology, high-quality human resources are the key and indispensable factor for sustainable growth in the future.
Nurturing science and technology talents through Vietnam - Korea cooperation
The Director emphasized that one of VKIST's core missions is to nurture and develop science and technology talent - a key factor in enhancing national innovation capacity. "We attach importance to learning the operating model, training and attracting talent from leading research institutes such as KIST. Those values are being transformed by VKIST into a new science and technology ecosystem in Vietnam," he said.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi believes that human resource development cannot be separated from a research organization model that is in line with international trends. VKIST has been building a business-oriented research model, focusing on innovation and creating a professional, global working environment to attract talented scientists, especially the younger generation.
In the context of the world entering a period of strong transformation with the fourth industrial revolution, in the coming time, VKIST will expand 4 more research areas, including: Semiconductor microcircuits, post-harvest technology, advanced materials and biomedical engineering. These are areas with high application potential, in line with the development trend of science and technology in Vietnam and the world. VKIST focuses on developing core technologies, source technologies that the Vietnamese government prioritizes and Korea has strengths such as AI, Semiconductors, Secondary Batteries; Solving major national problems through global research cooperation, especially with Korean partners; Improving competitiveness through remuneration mechanisms: In addition to the salary regime according to State regulations, VKIST implements salary and bonus regulations according to capacity, level of contribution and completion of assigned tasks every year; VKIST creates a friendly working environment, helping individuals, especially researchers, to focus on doing their professional work well, while other administrative tasks will be handled by the support department.
Future orientation and opportunities for talents working at VKIST
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi also shared more about the development orientation in the coming time, in which VKIST will continue to expand international cooperation, send young researchers to participate in training courses at KIST's research labs in Korea and learn from the experiences of senior, experienced researchers of KIST. These talents and staff will have the opportunity to work in a modern, highly autonomous environment, have access to international cooperation programs, especially with Korea, and at the same time be given the opportunity to develop a long-term research career at VKIST, contributing to the development of Vietnam and the Vietnam - Korea cooperation relationship and being one of the key pillars for the sustainable development of the two countries in the new era.
At the same time, VKIST aims to build an in-depth, interdisciplinary research environment to promote innovation and technology transfer to serve sustainable socio-economic development.
"VKIST always welcomes young people with capacity, passion for science and technology and the desire to contribute to the development of science and technology in Vietnam. This is a good time for young talents to join us on the journey to make practical contributions to Vietnam's knowledge economy," the Director of VKIST emphasized.
