In contrast to the previous shaky sessions, the Vietnamese stock market opened the trading day of August 14 in an exciting atmosphere. Overwhelming demand helped the VN-Index jump right from the start of the session and continuously conquer new highs.
Strong cash flow into the market, especially concentrated in large-cap stocks in the finance and banking sector, created a widespread ripple effect. Many financial stocks broke out strongly, even hitting the ceiling such as VPB, HDB,ACB , MBB... becoming the main driving force supporting the index.
At the end of the session, VN-Index increased sharply by 29.09 points, equivalent to 1.81%, to 1,640.69 points. VN30-Index increased by more than 40 points; HNX-Index increased by 5.46 points; UPCoM-Index increased by 0.73 points.

Despite the impressive increase in indexes, the electronic board still reflected significant differentiation with 156 codes increasing in price, of which 16 codes hit the ceiling, 51 codes stood at reference and 170 codes decreased.
In the whole market, the total value of matched transactions reached more than 52,500 billion VND. Notably, foreign investors continued to net sell more than 2,000 billion VND today. Of which, HPG was the stock that foreign investors sold the most with a value of more than 420 billion VND, followed byFPT , SSI, CTG, MSN... On the contrary, foreign investors net bought stocks such as VJC, VPB, VIX, CMG, PDR...
On the afternoon of August 13, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc chaired a meeting with ministries and branches on the draft Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 155, a document providing detailed guidance on the implementation of the Securities Law. This is the final review step before submitting it to competent authorities for approval, with the aim of ensuring that the regulations are suitable for practice, supporting market development and meeting upgrading requirements.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that upgrading the stock market is not just a procedural goal, but must be based on the vitality of the economy and business development.
