Promoting the tradition of "Mutual love and support", "The rich help the poor", on October 9, 2025, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) launched a donation movement among all staff and employees to support people in provinces and cities severely affected by natural disasters and floods in recent times.

Recently, consecutive natural disasters, especially storms No. 10 and No. 11 and their aftermath, have caused serious damage to many provinces and cities across the country. Prolonged heavy rains, flash floods and landslides have swept away thousands of houses and destroyed many infrastructure works, including VNPT 's communication systems in many localities.

According to statistics, due to the impact of storm No. 10, in the areas of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, at the peak time, nearly 1,000 radio stations lost contact, 800 fiber optic cables had problems, more than 280,000 fixed broadband subscribers lost connection. Currently, only about 80% have been restored. Meanwhile, in the provinces of Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang , due to the impact of floods and storm No. 11, at the peak time, about 300 radio stations lost contact, 50 fiber optic cables had problems, more than 70,000 fixed broadband subscribers were affected/lost connection. In addition, many network devices such as ONT, access switches, splitters and other technical accessories were damaged or flooded. Not only was there damage to infrastructure, more than 200 VNPT officers and employees in the affected areas also lost their homes and properties, and their lives were in great difficulty.

Thousands of VNPT technical staff are still stationed in flooded areas, urgently working day and night to fix problems.

Despite heavy losses, thousands of VNPT technical staff remained at the storm center and flooded areas, working day and night to urgently fix problems and ensure smooth communication to serve the flood and storm prevention and control work of authorities at all levels, as well as the communication needs of people and businesses. VNPT Group has mobilized nearly 600 specialized personnel to heavily affected localities to directly participate in rescue and information restoration. Dozens of cranes, generators, more than 700km of fiber optic cables, 3,500km of subscriber lines, along with thousands of terminal equipment and technical supplies have been mobilized from less affected areas to provide support.

Thanks to the continuous efforts of the VNPT team, up to now, the telecommunications network in the Central region has basically stabilized, ensuring communication services, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives soon. In some northern mountainous provinces such as Lang Son , Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, although still facing many difficulties due to complex terrain and traffic disruption, the VNPT team is still working hard every hour to deploy rescue and restore the network.

This effort is not only reflected in the speed of network recovery but also in the trust of the people and the government. During the storm and flood, the VinaPhone network was still considered stable, maintaining communication for millions of users.

And in that spirit, on October 9, 2025, VNPT Group officially launched a movement to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters nationwide. Each officer, employee, and worker of VNPT contributed at least one day's salary. It is expected that the total amount of donations reaching about 15 billion VND will be transferred by the Group to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Finance, and in coordination with local authorities to directly support victims of natural disasters.

This is not only a practical action demonstrating the spirit of “mutual love and support”, but also a social responsibility, a cultural beauty that VNPT Group has cultivated over the past 80 years. This act of kindness once again affirms the pioneering role and community responsibility of VNPT Group, a state-owned economic enterprise that always accompanies the country at all times.
