Nearly 1,000 people participated in the Hong Son Commune Sports Festival

In his opening remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Hong Son Commune People's Committee and Head of the Commune's Sports and Physical Education Congress Steering Committee, Dang Minh Duc, stated that in recent years, Hong Son commune has always considered the development of sports and physical education as an important task: Sports facilities have received significant investment, the physical training movement has developed extensively, and the number of households and individuals participating in regular training has steadily increased every year.

During the period 2021-2025, the percentage of people regularly participating in sports increased from 37.8% to 41.5%, and the percentage of households participating in sports increased from 29.5% to 31%. Clubs for recreational volleyball, football, badminton, aerobics, martial arts, running, etc., are actively operating, creating beneficial recreational spaces, discovering and nurturing many outstanding athletes who participate in city-level and national competitions, winning numerous medals.

The first Hong Son Commune Sports Festival in 2025 will feature eight competitive sports: badminton, football, volleyball, table tennis, folk dance, martial arts, chess, and tug-of-war. Through these competitions, the organizing committee will select outstanding athletes, aiming to win 20 medals of various types at city-level competitions.

The opening ceremony of the congress was lively, featuring a parade showcasing the strength of 15 contingents with over 300 people representing the armed forces, civil servants, members of various organizations, students, and athletes from sports clubs; three large-scale mass performances with nearly 320 people performing the songs "Healthy for the Nation," "Vietnamese Spirit," and "Songs Dedicated to Uncle Ho," expressing the spirit of unity and the aspiration for progress of the officials and people of Hong Son commune.

The congress attracted nearly 1,000 participants, including numerous delegates, athletes, and supporters. The atmosphere of the sports festival spread throughout the commune, with colorful flags and banners, the sound of drums and music blending with the cheers of the people, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, affirming the spirit of "Being healthy to build and protect the Fatherland" of the people of Hong Son today.
