Meeting to discuss preparations for the National Tourism Year 2026

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of December 11th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich chaired a meeting with representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units to discuss and agree on the contents for the National Tourism Year 2026, an event hosted by Gia Lai province.

At the meeting, leaders of relevant departments and units participated and contributed opinions on the establishment and appointment of members to the four subcommittees serving the National Tourism Year 2026; they also contributed opinions on the draft plan for organizing the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 and the preparations for receiving the hosting flag on December 20th at the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2025 in Hue City.

The National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026 is expected to have the theme “Gia Lai – Convergence of Identity, Spreading Green,” reflecting the connection between the sea and the highlands, between culture and nature, between Central Vietnam and the rest of the country, aiming for sustainable development and international integration.

According to the plan, within the framework of this event, Gia Lai province will host six series of events with more than 100 typical and unique cultural, sports, and educational activities. In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also preside over nearly 20 important activities to create a prominent mark for the National Tourism Year 2026.

In her concluding remarks, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich stated: The National Tourism Year is a significant cultural, economic, and social event of national and international importance. Gia Lai province is honored to host the 2026 National Tourism Year. To ensure proper preparation for this important event, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and units to coordinate with Hue City in organizing the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Tourism Year and the handover of the hosting flag for 2026 on December 20th.

Regarding the promotional video about Gia Lai to be shown at the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Tourism Year in Hue City, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the product clearly convey the overarching message of the 2026 National Tourism Year – Gia Lai, themed "Gia Lai – Convergence of Identity, Spreading Green." The video should highlight the potential, strengths, natural landscapes, and unique cultural values ​​of Gia Lai's land and people, presented in a new media style to attract domestic and international tourists. At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged relevant units to promptly implement the remaining tasks to ensure the successful organization of the 2026 National Tourism Year – Gia Lai, creating a prominent mark for the province during this special year.
