The trio of athletes Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc Tram, and Hoang Thi Thu Uyen coordinated seamlessly to complete their performance impressively and convincingly, bringing home Vietnam's 5th gold medal.

In the 54 kg taekwondo final, athlete Nguyen Hong Trong won 2-1 against Tumakaka (Indonesia) to bring home another gold medal for Vietnamese taekwondo at the 33rd SEA Games.

Meanwhile, in MMA (mixed martial arts), fighter Quang Van Minh brilliantly defeated Tan Yee Siang of Malaysia with a technically skillful TKO in the traditional men's 65 kg final, winning the gold medal.
On the same day of competition, fighter Duong Thi Thanh Binh won a silver medal in the women's 54 kg traditional MMA category, after failing to defeat her opponent Wulan of Indonesia in the final. Despite this encouraging result, MMA, being a newly added sport to this SEA Games, will not be counted towards the overall medal standings.
