
On the very first day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games, Vietnamese jujitsu athletes made an impressive start. In the women's Duo Show event, Phung Thi Hong Ngoc and Nguyen Ngoc Bich completed their performance with 48 points, finishing third and winning a bronze medal for the delegation.
The two Thai teams occupied the top two positions, with Thailand 2 scoring 51 points and Thailand 1 achieving 48.5 points. The Laotian team, with 43.5 points, did not win any medals.
Sharing their feelings after the competition, Hong Ngoc and Ngoc Bich said: “We are very happy to bring home Vietnam's first medal. Although we are a little disappointed that we didn't win gold, we still have other events and will try our best to achieve the highest possible results.”
With this result, the first bronze medal of the 33rd SEA Games becomes a significant milestone for Vietnamese sports , opening up hope for the following events in the martial arts group. The athletes competed with a relaxed and stress-free spirit, displaying confidence and determination.

On December 10th, the Vietnamese jujitsu team also competed in the fighting events with the participation of: Dao Hong Son, Le Kien (62kg), Dang Dinh Tung, Van Suu (77kg) in the men's category; and Trieu Thi Hai Yen, Phung Mui Nhinh (52kg), Ha Thi Anh Uyen, Vu Thi Anh Thu (63kg) in the women's category.
The 33rd SEA Games continued to see the Vietnamese martial arts team leading the way in medal achievements, marking a promising start for the delegation's key sports.
