The Literature - Arts - Music Department (VOV3), Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has just launched a campaign to compose songs, folk songs with new lyrics and poetry works with the theme "Vietnam in the era of rising up".
This is a key activity to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party, and at the same time look forward to major holidays in the 2025-2026 period.
According to the Organizing Committee, the campaign was opened with the desire to encourage the creative spirit of musicians, poets, professional and amateur authors, Vietnamese people at home and abroad as well as international friends.
Entries must depict love for the homeland, praise the Party, Uncle Ho, revolutionary traditions and especially the image of a Vietnam of the new era: confident, rich, hospitable, steadfast in the face of challenges and growing strongly.
VOV launches writing contest with theme "Vietnam in the era of rising up"
The campaign will run from October 1, 2025, and the deadline for submissions will end on November 25, 2025. The closing and award ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2025 at the Voice of Vietnam Theater, 58 Quan Su, Hanoi .
Authors can send their entries directly to the Literature - Arts - Music Department, National Radio Center or via email vov3@vov.vn.
The contest is open to all domestic and foreign authors. However, members of the Organizing Committee, Jury and Secretariat are not allowed to participate to ensure fairness.
For songs and folk songs with new lyrics, each author can submit a maximum of 2 works. For poetry, the number is unlimited but each author can only use one pen name. All works must be new compositions, have not participated in any contest and cannot use AI in the composition process.
The Organizing Committee would like to note that works that show signs of copying or imitating the ideas or melodies of other authors will be disqualified. Entries, whether winning or not, will not be returned. The winning works are copyrighted by the Voice of Vietnam and will be used for propaganda purposes.
This year's campaign has a rich prize structure for all three categories:
In the song category, the first prize is worth 15 million VND, in addition there are 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.
For the folk song with new lyrics, the first prize is worth 12 million VND, along with 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.
For poetry, the first prize is worth 10 million VND, followed by 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes.
In addition to the prize money, the winning authors will also receive a symbolic trophy and a certificate. The best works will be selected by the Jury, consisting of prestigious musicians, poets and composers, through two preliminary and final rounds and will have the opportunity to be broadcast and widely disseminated on VOV's media channels.
With special significance in the year of preparation for the 14th National Party Congress, the creative movement Vietnam in the Rising Era promises to arouse pride and creative aspirations among artists and writers, bringing to the public many songs, poems, and folk melodies rich in artistic value, reflecting the new spirit of the nation on the path of integration and development.
