Vivid evidence
Due to the impact of storm No. 10, on September 30, Hanoi experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing flooding on many roads and residential areas, disrupting people's lives.
Faced with that situation, Hanoi City Police have synchronously deployed plans and strategies to prevent and combat storms, mobilizing all forces to coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to support people in responding to natural disasters.

Even in the heavy rain, the Traffic Police, Public Order Police, 113 Police, Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police, along with Ward and Commune Police, were present at flooded areas to direct traffic, guide people, support stranded vehicles, and become "support points" for people in the midst of the flood.
The city's police forces also worked all night, handling a series of emergency situations, such as rescuing people trapped in elevators, fixing fallen trees and broken branches, bringing students out of flooded areas, moving people living on the riverbank to safe shelters and providing necessities to stabilize their lives...
There are particularly touching situations that have spread strongly on social networks, such as: Phuong Liet Ward Police promptly supported a pregnant woman to go to the emergency room safely in the flood on the afternoon of September 30; Fire prevention, firefighting and rescue police supported 68 students from the deep flood area at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School (Ngoc Ha Ward) on the evening of September 30; Traffic police used specialized vehicles to overcome the flood to support 2 child patients to go to the emergency room on the morning of October 1...
The images of the Capital Police officers, regardless of danger, persistently wading through water, standing shoulder to shoulder with the people during the day and night of flooding, have left a deep impression, affirming the spirit of "forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people" of the Capital Police force.
Ms. Nguyen Nhu Giang (a volunteer helping patients at K Hospital - Tan Trieu facility) expressed her emotion at the quick and timely actions of the traffic police force in the process of supporting 2 children to the emergency room.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a parent whose child studies at Phu Luong II Primary School (Phu Luong Ward), shared that the ward police officers and soldiers braved the rain to carry each child safely through the flooded area. She and many other residents were truly touched. “They worked with all their heart, regardless of the difficulties. Thanks to that, we feel much more secure when picking up and dropping off our children in the storm,” Ms. Hoa said.
Ms. Chu Thi Thuy, whose child studies at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School, emotionally shared that it was not only a timely rescue action, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of "serving the people" of the Capital Police force.

People's safety comes first and foremost
During the recent stormy days, many officers and soldiers of the Capital Police were immersed in deep water for many hours, their feet were white and red from the cold. Some officers and soldiers' families were also heavily affected by the storm; but putting aside their own worries, they still worked with their teammates day and night to organize on-duty, divide traffic, regulate, ensure safety, and promptly support people to overcome difficulties.
In addition, the Capital Police force also ensures political security and social order and safety in harsh natural disaster conditions, promptly detects and strictly handles acts of taking advantage of natural disasters to violate the law.

The image of the resilient Capital Police soldiers on the front line of natural disaster prevention and control is imbued with the spirit of "serving the people", contributing to beautifying the beautiful image of the Vietnam People's Police soldiers in general, and the Capital Police in particular, in the hearts of the people.
Not only in the capital, Hanoi City Police also shared the most elite forces to support localities facing more difficulties caused by storm No. 10. In particular, the Working Group of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police joined the Working Group of the Ministry of Public Security to carry out the task of rescue and overcoming the consequences after storm No. 10 in Tuyen Quang province.

Colonel Pham Trung Hieu, Head of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police, said that the working delegation included elite officers and soldiers with good health, well-trained, solid expertise, and a lot of experience in rescue; along with modern equipment and means, suitable for the actual situation at the scene.
“This is a very special trip, demonstrating the pride of the fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue police force of the Capital Police on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the force's traditional day,” said Colonel Pham Trung Hieu.
Faced with complicated weather developments when it is forecast that there will be tropical depressions and storms making landfall in our country, Colonel Nguyen Tien Dat, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, said that the City Police Department has requested units and police of communes and wards to closely monitor the situation to effectively deploy response plans to natural disasters and heavy rains in the area with the highest spirit and responsibility; not to be passive, surprised, negligent or subjective.
“All forces and vehicles of the Hanoi City Police are always in the highest state of combat readiness to ensure the safety, health and lives of the people with the motto of first and foremost,” Colonel Nguyen Tien Dat affirmed.
