Recently, Mr. LQN (40 years old, residing in My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province) denounced on social networks a number of serious violations by the leaders of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, which occurred at CP Fresh Shop My Xuyen store.
“Every day, the store regularly mixes in sick pigs and sick chickens. Some pieces of pig smell bad and are brought back to Fresh Shop to instruct employees to sell them to the market in Soc Trang ,” Mr. N. stated on his social media account.
In response to worrying information surrounding CP Vietnam’s pork products, some food stores and units using CP Vietnam’s products as raw materials for processing have announced a temporary suspension of sales of this brand’s products. Some other stores have spoken out to reassure consumers about the source of raw materials for their business.
For example, a clean food store in Nam Dinh has announced that it will temporarily stop selling CP products from May 30. The store also confirmed that it will temporarily stop providing products of this brand to customers until it receives official notice from the competent authorities. After having a specific conclusion, the store will consider and make a decision on whether to continue selling CP products or not.
"The store has been selling CP pork products since the store opened (October 2024) until now. The decision to stop selling is for the health of customers first and foremost," the store representative added.

Similarly, a bakery in Dong Da district (Hanoi) also announced that it would temporarily stop selling two products: thousand-layer sausage and cheese sausage bread.
"The store currently uses Bucher German sausages produced by CP for two products: cheese sausage sandwiches and thousand-layer sausages. We choose products from CP because we trust the standard production process, quality control and wide distribution in major supermarket chains nationwide," the store said.
Faced with the information being spread, the store could not help but feel confused and worried. However, because it is directly related to the health of customers, it has decided to temporarily suspend the sale of 2 products using CP sausage until the results of inspection and assessment by the authorities are available, at which point further action will be taken.
"This is a necessary step to ensure peace of mind and safety for customers. The store hopes that the authorities will soon provide accurate and transparent results to restore consumer confidence, as well as for businesses like us to continue to confidently serve our customers," the store announced.
With large supermarket chains, CP is a major producer and supplier of pork, chicken and processed products. Currently, most large supermarkets are still waiting for official conclusions from the authorities. Some others have proactively stopped importing processed products from CP.

Speaking with Dan Tri newspaper reporters , a representative of the Kingfoodmart supermarket chain said that CP Vietnam's products do not account for a large proportion in the chain's meat industry structure because the company's fresh pork supply is imported from many different suppliers such as Meat Master clean pork, HAGL banana-fed pork, Vinh Tan chilled meat...
A representative of the supermarket chain said that the company always focuses on ensuring a closed operating process from warehousing, delivery to food processing during packaging. Suppliers are required to comply with a closed livestock farming process and use refrigerated trucks during transportation to maintain the freshness of the products when they reach consumers...
As for consumers, in the face of conflicting information, some expressed concern and said they had temporarily stopped buying or using CP products until there was an official conclusion from the authorities. Many people switched to using pork from other brands.
Meanwhile, some consumers remain cautious, waiting for the test results from the authorities. "I often buy CP fresh pork products at the supermarket because of the reasonable price and reputable brand. Everything is still waiting for the conclusion from the authorities, so we should not panic or hastily boycott the product when there is no clear evidence," said Ms. Thuy Linh (Ha Dong district, Hanoi).
Previously, on June 2, the functional sector of Hau Giang province inspected two slaughterhouses DN (Phung Hiep district) and N.D. (Chau Thanh A district). These are two slaughterhouses that process for CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.
In particular, the image of a pig showing signs of illness (shown on March 26, 2022) that the person accusing the CP company of mixing sick pigs into the market and selling them on social media was said to have been taken at the DN slaughterhouse.
At the meeting, Mr. Ha Huu Tam, manager of the slaughterhouse of the CP Company branch in Hau Giang, said that the above image was taken at the enterprise's slaughterhouse to record a report to the veterinary department. "When discovering that the pig was not as clean as normal pigs, the slaughterhouse, the company, and the veterinary department coordinated to destroy it at the slaughterhouse by cooking it and feeding it to fish," according to Mr. Tam.
Mr. Tam also said that at that time, all three parties determined that "the pig could not be guaranteed to be brought to the market" so they signed a document deciding to destroy it.
CP Vietnam was granted an investment license in 1993 as a 100% foreign invested company. In 2008, CP Vietnam Livestock Company Limited was officially transformed into CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.
According to CP Foods' financial report, Vietnam is the company's largest overseas market in 2024. Revenue from Vietnam accounts for about 21% of total revenue, equivalent to 122 billion baht.
