Vu Le: Towards a model commune

Vu Le commune was established on the basis of merging the three communes of Vu Son, Chien Thang and Vu Le of Bac Son district (old). Vu Le commune now borders Thai Nguyen province, the whole commune has a natural area of more than 92 km2, 23 villages with 4 main ethnic groups: Tay, Nung, Kinh, Dao living together.

Before the merger, Chien Thang and Vu Son communes were recognized as model NTM communes; Vu Le commune was recognized as meeting NTM standards. Mr. Duong Cong Chung, Vice Chairman of Vu Le Commune People's Committee, said: One of the important goals in the socio -economic development of Vu Le commune in the period of 2025 - 2030 is to strive to achieve advanced NTM by 2027 and model NTM by 2029. To concretize the above goals and not to interrupt the implementation of NTM construction, as soon as Vu Le commune was established, the Commune People's Committee quickly deployed solutions to maintain the implementation of the program.

Specifically, the Commune People's Committee has directed relevant units to proactively review and re-evaluate all criteria. Through the review, Vu Le commune currently meets 11/19 criteria for an advanced NTM commune. Immediately after that, the Commune People's Committee has developed a plan to implement the NTM construction program in 2025. In which, specific tasks are assigned to each department and specialized unit in charge of implementing the criteria. The advantage of Vu Le commune is that the infrastructure system serving socio-economic development has been invested and built since previous years. Therefore, at this time, the commune continues to focus on developing production, increasing income as well as consolidating traffic and environmental criteria...

Mr. Hoang Doan Tien, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Hong Vi Village, said: The whole village has 132 households. In recent years, the people's economy has mainly depended on agricultural and forestry production. To improve economic efficiency, in addition to the propaganda and guidance of specialized agencies, the villagers have also proactively researched and learned to build and replicate effective production models. In recent years, the villagers have maintained 30 hectares of ornamental peach trees. At the same time, they continue to maintain a number of crops and livestock such as deer, buffalo, cows, and pigs, bringing stable economic efficiency to the people. Currently, the whole village has only 1 poor household and 3 near-poor households.

Along with Hong Vi village, people in other villages in Vu Le commune continue to maintain and gradually expand effective production models to increase people's income. Currently, the commune maintains an area of annual crops of over 1,877 hectares; over 80 hectares of peach, mai and some areas of fruit trees, macadamia; 24 hectares of aquaculture area...

Mr. Hoang Van Thuy, Head of the Economic Department of Vu Le Commune, said: Currently, the specialized department continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to propagate to people to maintain and gradually expand suitable and effective production models such as peach, mai, fruit tree, livestock farming models... combined with other economic sectors, striving by 2030, the average income per capita in the commune will reach 90 million VND/person/year or more; the whole commune basically has no poor households...

In addition to focusing on production development, the Commune People's Committee continues to direct specialized agencies to promote propaganda, mobilize cooperation, and contribute to implementing the criteria of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. At the same time, from the capital source for building new rural areas in 2025 (about 800 million VND), the Commune People's Committee is currently taking steps to support villages in upgrading roads, installing lighting, and supporting production. The Commune strives to achieve 14/19 criteria of advanced new rural areas by the end of 2025.

The goal is clear and determined from the beginning, but to achieve the standard of a model new-style rural commune as planned, Vu Le commune still has a lot of work to do. Therefore, in addition to its own initiative and efforts, Vu Le commune really needs more attention, direction and support from all levels and sectors. From there, it will help the commune have more resources and motivation to soon become one of the first model new-style rural communes in the province in the new period.
