On May 30, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong issued a decision to establish a Council to assess the status and propose a plan to preserve and restore the national treasure - the Nguyen Dynasty throne. The Council will conduct an inspection and propose effective solutions to restore and preserve the cultural and historical value of this throne.
The Council is chaired by Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee; Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, Member of the National Cultural Heritage Council, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council; and Pham Dinh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vice Chairman of the Council.

In addition to local cultural and museum officials, the Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee also invited leaders of the Department of Cultural Heritage, the National Museum of History and cultural and historical experts to be members of the council.
The Nguyen Dynasty Throne Restoration Council dissolved after completing its mission.
The Council, after its establishment, was tasked with assessing the damage to the Nguyen Dynasty throne, a national treasure, and proposing plans for preservation and restoration.
The Nguyen Dynasty throne at Thai Hoa Palace, a national treasure, was damaged by a tourist who showed signs of "psychosis" on May 24.

The council also helps the Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee consider and decide on plans to preserve and restore the Nguyen Dynasty throne. The council's operating expenses are in accordance with current regulations and the council dissolves itself after completing its tasks.

Previously, upon the proposal of the Hue City People's Committee, on May 29, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a document agreeing to the Hue City People's Committee to establish a council to assess the status and propose a plan to preserve and restore the national treasure of the Nguyen Dynasty throne. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also appointed three central-level officials to participate in the council, including: Mr. Pham Dinh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as Vice Chairman of the council; Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Director of the National Museum of History, Member of the National Cultural Heritage Council and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thom, Head of the Preservation Department, National Museum of History.
