Hoa Binh Bridge Collapse, Tay Ninh: 3 Victims Discharged, 2 Continued Treatment at Hospital

At noon on May 11, Chau Thanh District Party Committee sent an initial report to Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the landslide at the foot of Hoa Binh Bridge.

Accordingly, at about 4 o'clock the same day, at the foot of Hoa Binh bridge, a sinkhole appeared about 35m long and 3m deep.

Scene of the incident

At this time, 7 people were traveling across the bridge and fell into the subsidence area (1 car carrying 4 people, 2 motorbikes carrying 3 people), injuring 1 car driver, 5 people were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The initial cause was estimated to be due to a local mud bag slipping.

By noon of the same day, 3 people were allowed to go home for observation, 2 people continued treatment at Tay Ninh General Hospital. District leaders visited, encouraged, and gave gifts to the victims.

Hoa Binh Bridge is invested by Chau Thanh District Construction Investment Project Management Board, with a total construction investment of more than 37 billion VND from the provincial and district budgets.

The new Hoa Binh Bridge was inaugurated and put into use on April 25, 2025.
