The information was announced by Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuy, Vice Chairman of Vung Tau City People's Committee, on January 9. The investment in the construction of these projects was mentioned by the City People's Committee in a meeting with provincial leaders regarding the Thuy Van road renovation project that recently took place.
Among the tunnels, 5 locations are built next to hotels and restaurants to serve residents and tourists. These projects increase the value of businesses, so the People's Committee of Vung Tau City is mobilizing investment funding. The remaining 3 tunnels at the intersection of Phan Van Tri Street; Hoang Hoa Tham Street and the intersection of Son Thuy Hotel will be built with the city budget. The estimated investment cost for these 8 projects has not been announced.

After many years of leasing to private individuals for restaurants and hotels, the land on both sides of Thuy Van Street running along Vung Tau beach was reclaimed by the government for renovation, returning public space and beaches to the people. At the end of 2023, the planning of both sides of Thuy Van Street with an area of nearly 78 hectares, belonging to wards 2, 8 and Thang Tam, was approved.
With the new planning, from Thuy Van street to Bai Sau beach, there will be a park, square, food street, performance area, entertainment area... with a total implementation cost of about 1,200 billion VND. Inside Thuy Van street will be service area, trade, residential land and technical infrastructure.
