According to Mr. Do Huu The, Director of Ba Vi National Park, Ba Vi National Park is about 60km west of Hanoi center. Located in a high mountain range running in the Northeast - Southwest direction with Tan Vien peak at 1,227m high, Vua peak at 1,296m high and Ngoc Hoa peak at 1,131m high, the majestic, wild scenery of the mountains and forests with cool, fresh air, the National Park possesses an extremely rich and diverse flora and fauna, making it an ideal tourist destination attracting many visitors.
Many tourists visit Ba Vi National Park in the first days of the new year.
In particular, on the top of Ba Vi, there are many relics and sacred places of worship such as: Thuong Temple, President Ho Chi Minh Temple... which are ancient architectural works, stained with time, located in the majestic mountains and forests..., attracting many people to offer incense in the first days of the new year.
Ba Vi National Park was established under Decision No. 17-CT dated January 16, 1991 of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now the Government). Currently, the park has a total area of nearly 9,702.41 hectares, belonging to the administrative boundaries of 15 communes and 5 districts: Ba Vi, Thach That, Quoc Oai of Hanoi city; Luong Son district, Hoa Binh city of Hoa Binh province.
