Buddha's relics will be carried through 5 provinces and cities until June 2.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has sent a dispatch to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions asking to continue to carry Buddha's relics through five provinces and cities: Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen and Da Nang.

On the afternoon of May 20, Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Deputy Head of the Council of Patriarchs and Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said that in recent days, millions of people have come to worship and pay homage to Buddha's relics at the sites of Thanh Tam Pagoda (HCMC), Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi), and Tam Chuc Pagoda ( Ha Nam ).

In response to the desire and need for worship of a large number of Buddhist followers and people across the country, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has requested the Prime Minister to consult with the Indian Government to allow an extension of the time to enshrine the Buddha's relics in Vietnam.

On May 17, the Prime Minister sent a document to the Prime Minister of India requesting permission for the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to extend the time to enshrine Buddha's relics in Vietnam until June 2, 2025.

On May 19, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam issued a written notice: The Prime Minister of India has approved the extension of the time to enshrine the Buddha's relics in Vietnam. Therefore, the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has sent a document to the Government's Committee for Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, requesting to add 5 more locations to enshrine the Buddha's relics.

The 5 locations include Bai Dinh Pagoda (Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh) from May 21 to 22; Phuc Son Pagoda (Tan Yen District, Bac Giang) from May 22 to 24; Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace (Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh) from May 25 to 28; Chuong Pagoda (Hung Yen City, Hung Yen Province) from May 28 to 29; Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang) from May 30 to June 2.

The Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha said it had surveyed the location and discussed with local authorities about security, order, health, fire prevention and safety, environmental sanitation... for the events.

On May 20, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs sent an urgent document to seek opinions from the People's Committees of the above 5 provinces and cities and relevant agencies on the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's request to add 5 more locations to enshrine Buddha's relics.
