According to Giac Ngo Online , the announcement of Venerable Thich Le Trang - Vice President of the Executive Council, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Vice President of the Organizing Committee of the United Nations Vesak 2025 - stated:

Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc immolated himself on June 20, 1963 at the intersection of Le Van Duyet and Phan Dinh Phung, Saigon (now the intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam - Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), leaving behind an immortal heart relic, a symbol of the spirit of compassion and wisdom of Buddhism and the tradition of the Vietnamese people.

"Now that the conditions have been met, the invitation, enshrinement and worship of the relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc - one of the important spiritual events will be held on the occasion of the 2025 Vesak Festival, in the first days of the 2569th Buddha's Birthday" - the announcement said.

Venerable Thich Le Trang further informed: in compliance with the instructions of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the ceremony to worship the relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc at Vietnam National Temple (No. 242-244, 3/2 Street, Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) will start from 2:00 p.m. on May 6 to 10 (from April 9 to 13, At Ty year).

Previously, the invitation, enshrinement and worship of the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc was scheduled to take place on May 3 but was postponed.

According to the original plan, the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc was invited from its place of preservation to Vietnam National Temple at 6:00 a.m. on May 3.

Monks, nuns, Buddhists and people pay homage to the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc from the afternoon of May 3 to 10. Morning from 8:00 to 11:00. Afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30.

After the worship period, the organizing committee invited the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc to be permanently enshrined at Da Bao tower of Viet Nam Quoc Tu.

United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 co-organized by the International Organizing Committee for the United Nations Day of Vesak (ICDV) and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the event. Previously, Vietnam hosted the United Nations Vesak in Hanoi (2008), Ninh Binh (2014) and Ha Nam (2019).

It is expected that 80 countries and territories will participate. United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 in Vietnam. This is the 20th time the ceremony has been held.

The 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration is scheduled to take place from May 6 to 8, 2025, at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.

Key message of The United Nations Vesak Day celebration in Vietnam is "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development" .
