Being a remote area, the people of Minh Tan commune focus on exploiting potential advantages, changing the way of thinking and doing in agricultural production, which has helped to gradually improve income and living standards. Along with economic development, the commune focuses on investing in transport infrastructure for sustainable development.

Efficient production
Coming to Minh Tan, we were amazed by the long rubber plantations and the vast organic tissue culture banana gardens. With an agricultural land area of over 4,000 hectares, the people of Minh Tan commune have taken advantage of their strengths to develop large-scale concentrated cultivation and livestock farming. From here, many models associated with production chains and high-tech applications (HDT) have emerged, bringing about efficiency. Typical examples include the Dau Tieng Bird's Nest Agricultural - Trade - Service Cooperative, Mr. Le Van Duong's egg-laying chicken farm, the "Free-range duck farming" HDT model applied to 7 households in Tan Dinh and Tan Phu hamlets...
In addition, in the area, there is also a model of Unifarm Branch implementing nearly 200 hectares of tissue culture bananas for high productivity, quality and economic value, improving land use efficiency compared to traditional crops in the area. Enterprises and farms raising pigs and chickens in closed processing have signed contracts with companies such as CP, Emivest, Cargill... to ensure product quality and price for farmers.
According to Mr. Pham Binh Long, Vice Chairman of Minh Tan Commune People's Committee, the commune's main crop is rubber. In recent years, people have actively exploited the potential of land, labor, capital and boldly applied scientific and technical advances, high technology in production, business, and transformed the structure of crops and livestock, helping the commune's economy to develop more and more. Many new models have been developed, especially organic production models to meet the demand for quality and safe products, aiming towards sustainable agricultural production.
The pig farming model according to the safe supply chain of Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Tan Duc hamlet is considered one of the advanced examples. With an area of 3 hectares of land, Mr. Son has applied closed cold pig farming, from production to processing. In particular, pigs are raised organically, from the stage of selecting breeds to choosing feed ingredients such as soybeans, corn, fish meal... to produce fragrant, soft, safe meat. Wild-bred pork products and processed products such as ham, sausage, spring rolls, sausages... are highly appreciated by reputable consumers thanks to the strict production process, and are certified by competent authorities to meet food safety conditions. Mr. Son said: "Organic farming is highly appreciated by consumers, the need to use clean food in daily meals is very necessary. To manage the source of input materials, my family invested in an organic feed factory to supply the entire farm".
Traffic "opens the way"
Present at the flat asphalt road near the intersection of Sunflower Kindergarten, Group 4, Tan Thanh Hamlet, we clearly felt the joy of the 40 households living on this road. Ms. Pham Thi Quyen, a grocery seller here, shared: “I have lived here since 2012, before it was a red stone road, inconvenient to travel. Since being invested in upgrading to an asphalt road in 2019, people have been able to travel easily and trade more conveniently. To have a beautiful road, we, the people, did not hesitate to donate land and crops for construction.”
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Gioi, Head of Tan Thanh Hamlet, said: “In the hamlet, there are 8 alleys with 294 households. The asphalt road was invested by the commune, the lighting, security cameras were contributed by the hamlet and the people. In addition, to join hands with the state to build the homeland and develop the economy, many cement concrete roads were contributed entirely by the people from donating land, crops and funds.”
It can be said that wherever the transport infrastructure is developed, the economy flourishes. Recognizing that importance, in recent years, in addition to focusing on developing economic models, the rural transport system (RTS) has been upgraded and expanded by the commune, creating convenient traffic. According to the leader of Minh Tan commune, there are currently 78 traffic routes in the area, including inter-commune roads, commune-managed roads, branch roads, and alleys with a total length of 70.7km. Up to now, all RTS routes have been invested in upgrading, repairing, asphalting, and cementing.
Large land potential, abundant labor resources, convenient transportation... are favorable conditions for the rural appearance of Minh Tan commune to increasingly improve. The annual economic growth rate is high, over 9%/year, contributing to the continuous improvement of people's lives in both material and spiritual terms, the number of well-off and rich households is increasing. By the end of 2022, the number of poor households in the locality was 14, accounting for 0.98% according to the province's new criteria , the average income per capita of the commune was 71 million VND/person/year, an increase of 31 million VND compared to 2020.
