Due to the impact of heavy rains and floods, Phuc Loc commune is showing many signs of serious landslides, especially in Phia Pha village, where large cracks have appeared on the high hills and spread down to residential areas, causing concern for 35 households. The village of Phia Pha currently has 37 households, mainly belonging to the Dao ethnic minority. After two consecutive storms (numbers 10 and 11), cracks averaging about 20cm wide and extending over 250m have appeared behind the residential area. Furthermore, the ground beneath many houses has cracked and subsided; in some households, the soil has even collapsed in the yard and under the house foundations, putting many houses at risk of collapse at any moment.

The house of Mr. Trieu Van An's family, measuring over 50 square meters and completed at the end of June 2025, now has many large cracks in both the walls and the floor. The front and back of the house have cracks ranging from 3-5 cm wide, extending for tens of meters. Mr. An said: "My family doesn't dare live here anymore because we're afraid the house will collapse at any moment. Every time it rains heavily, my family is very worried and just hopes to find a safer place to live."

Mr. Dang Phuc Chan, a villager, also stated: After typhoon No. 11, the land on the hilltop cracked extensively, with some sections being deep and wide, posing a very high risk of landslides. Almost all 35 out of 37 households in the village were affected. The villagers hope that the authorities will soon arrange a safer resettlement area to stabilize their lives.

The terrain in Phia Pha village is loose and prone to subsidence. The concrete road leading into the village is also cracked and subsided in many places, posing a danger to people and vehicles passing through. Not only in residential areas, but cracks have also appeared on agricultural land, seriously affecting the farming activities of the villagers.

Mr. Pham Van Oanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Loc commune, said: Immediately after discovering the landslide, the commune promptly organized an inspection of the scene, disseminated information, and encouraged people to move to safe places, temporarily staying with relatives.

The commune authorities also mobilized the police, militia, and land management officials to regularly inspect, erect warning signs, and cordon off dangerous areas with ropes, prohibiting travel and production within the cracked areas to prevent unfortunate accidents; at the same time, they sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and agencies, requesting support in inspecting and assessing the level of danger and proposing solutions for the future...
