Sao Vang Commune urgently fixes the landslide problem of canal C6

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Due to the impact of storm No. 5, prolonged heavy rain, rapid water rise in the area combined with high water level of Chu River caused a landslide of canal C6 located within the scope of Hoang Kim culvert project in the old Xuan Sinh commune, now Sao Vang commune, with a length of about 20m.

Immediately after discovering the incident on the night of August 26, 2025, the commune government and functional forces directly went to the scene to direct the response and recovery work. The commune mobilized all available forces, means, and materials (such as sacks, soil, tarpaulins, bamboo poles, etc.), and closely coordinated with the management and operation unit of Hoang Kim culvert, Song Chu One Member Co., Ltd., along with the timely support of officers and soldiers of Regiment 923, to urgently handle and reinforce the landslide section.

Thanks to the timely direction and synchronous participation of the forces, by about 3:00 a.m. on August 27, 2025, the eroded canal section had been repaired. Sao Vang Commune continues to direct and arrange forces on duty 24/24 at key locations to promptly respond; Proactively prepare plans when situations arise; continue to mobilize forces to inspect and review high-risk areas, promptly detect unusual developments and incidents for urgent handling to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.

Previously, Sao Vang commune also urgently and drastically deployed synchronous measures to overcome the incident of rising water level of Nha Le river, causing overflow of the road section across the Nha Le river dike (bridge area from Bot Thuong village to Bich Phuong village). As of 24:00 on August 26, the locality has directed and supported the evacuation of a total of 94 households (including: 76 households in low-lying areas and 18 households at risk of landslides), 02 farms and anchored 14 boats on the river to ensure safety.
