On October 7, an account named Seni World Travel posted a video recording a train running through a train cafe street in Hanoi , crashing into tables and chairs where many tourists were sitting.

The video, which is more than 10 seconds long, shows the shop with tables and chairs placed close to the edge of the tracks. When the train passed, some tables were knocked over, spilling food and drinks. Some tourists sitting nearby jumped up and screamed. Others held up their phones to record, looking amused.

This video quickly attracted more than 2 million views after just one day of posting.

"This is a reminder for everyone to keep a safe distance," the poster wrote with the caption.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on October 8, a leader of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward said that he had learned of the incident and forwarded the information to the ward police for verification. In the immediate future, the authorities will clarify the location of the incident before imposing sanctions.

This is not the first time an incident has occurred at the train street cafe.

After many incidents, authorities have increased security at entrances to the area, requiring tourists and restaurant owners to comply with safety regulations.

However, the situation of businesses encroaching on railway safety corridors has not yet had a definitive solution.

City authorities said they do not deny the appeal of the train street coffee shop, but asserted that the tourist appeal cannot be a reason to ignore safety.
