This year's April 30th - May 1st holiday lasts 5 days (from April 29th to May 3rd), providing many families with an extended break to have fun and relax.

Hanoi is one of the tourist centers with many activities and entertainment options during this time.

Many fun activities and experiences are available at the Museum of Ethnology.

One of the activities that attracted many tourists during this year's holiday season was the festivals in Hanoi . These included the traditional festivals at Tay Phuong Pagoda, Lang Pagoda, Hat Mon Temple (commemorating the 1980th anniversary of the death of the Trung Sisters), and the Thầy Pagoda festival in 2023…

Suburban areas of Hanoi, such as Gia Lam district, will organize eco-tourism experience programs, exploring the birthplace of Saint Giong; visiting the Giong Temple relic and activities to learn about local culture (from April 29th to May 3rd), at the Phu Dong tourist site.

Meanwhile, at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, from April 29th to 30th, there will be activities showcasing traditional water puppetry and a program exploring Korean culture through hands-on experience with traditional Korean Hanbok clothing.

At Thang Long Imperial Citadel, there will be an exhibition titled "Sharing the Same Path" and a water puppet show.

During this period, the Hanoi Cheo Theatre, Hanoi Cai Luong Theatre, Hanoi Drama Theatre, Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theatre, Thang Long Puppet Theatre, Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre, and the City Cultural Center will organize numerous performances in the districts of Gia Lam, Ung Hoa, Nam Tu Liem, Tay Ho, Soc Son, Quoc Oai, Thuong Tin, and Hoai Duc on the evenings of April 28th to May 1st.

The two films "The Little Girl Looking for a Husband" and "Face Off 6: The Fateful Ticket" are predicted to be the "trump cards" of Vietnamese cinemas this holiday season.

During this holiday, cinemas also treated moviegoers to a series of new, high-quality films across diverse genres, from science fiction, action, comedy, horror, and animation, such as: "The Little Girl Looking for a Husband," "Flip Face 6: The Fateful Ticket," "Super Mario Brothers," "The Thug Meets the Earth," "The Devil's Nemesis," etc.

From April 28th to May 20th, VTV will showcase many award-winning national and international documentaries and feature films that contributed to the struggle for national reunification.

These are also films produced during the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and the early days of national reunification, such as: "Hanoi Celebrates Saigon's Liberation", "Saigon Rejoices in Victory", "Complete Joy", "The City at Dawn", "May: Faces", "Mother Absent", "Fairy Tales for 17-Year-Olds", "Far and Near".

The documentary "A Special Return," broadcast on VTV on April 29-30, tells the story of the return of a notebook that had been lost in America for 56 years. It also contains the recollections of soldiers from the 22nd Regiment, 3rd Golden Star Division, as they return to their old battlefield.

The April 30th - May 1st holiday coincided with a period when the number of Covid-19 cases was on the rise. Therefore, the Department of Tourism issued a document to units, businesses, organizations, and individuals operating tourism services in the city regarding strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control measures.
