In the opening match of the first round of SEA V.League yesterday, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team affirmed their strength with a 3-0 victory over the Indonesian team. Meanwhile, the Philippines team, despite losing 1-3, surprisingly created many difficulties for the defending champion Thailand.

Vietnam women's volleyball team is not subjective against the Philippines

With what the Philippines team showed in the match against Thailand, especially promoting the effectiveness of the serves, creating pressure on the opponent from the beginning, it is a warning for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. If they want to win all 3 points against this opponent, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates must play with full concentration, organize the first step effectively to launch the attack.

If in the opening match, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet keeps No. 1 scorer Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen out of the game, she will most likely be sent to the field from the start in the match against the Philippines. Due to the SEA V.League schedule, there is one match per day, so the Vietnamese team needs to achieve a dual goal against the Philippines: both winning and distributing energy to key players to prepare for tomorrow's "big battle" against the Thai team.

The match between the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and the Philippines team in round 1 of the SEA V.League will take place at 1:30 p.m. today and will be broadcast live on VTVCab's On Sports News channel.

The 2025 SEA V.League Volleyball Tournament is divided into 2 stages, including stage 1 in Thailand from August 1 to 3 and stage 2 in Ninh Binh from August 8 to 10. The tournament attracts the participation of the 4 strongest teams in the region, namely Thailand (reigning champion), Vietnam (runner-up) along with Indonesia and the Philippines. The Thai team (ranked 20th in the world ) and the Vietnamese team (ranked 27th in the world) are expected to compete fiercely for the championship title.
