No longer a rumor, the Chinese tech giant has officially unveiled the future of its HyperOS operating system with a brand-new "weapon" called miclaw. This historic change promises to reshape how we use smartphones.
Xiaomi implicitly confirms HyperOS 4 with its 'secret weapon' of autonomous AI.
During Xiaomi's impressive Q1 2026 earnings report, Chairman Lu Weibing unexpectedly revealed an ambitious move. Amidst maintaining its position as one of the world's top three companies for 23 consecutive quarters and experiencing explosive growth in the high-end segment, Xiaomi is pouring all its resources into a revolution in artificial intelligence.

Lu Weibing asserted that AI represents the greatest growth opportunity in the history of the smartphone industry, and Xiaomi is determined to reshape its entire ecosystem around this technology. The most significant development is the merger of AI and miclaw – the company's next-generation autonomous AI assistant.
Completely different from conventional virtual assistants, miclaw possesses autonomous capabilities, able to automatically perform complex tasks across applications and deeply intervene in system features without cumbersome manual navigation from the user.
The head of Xiaomi also confirmed that a "next-generation" operating system (which the tech community implicitly understands to be HyperOS 4) will be officially launched around July or August of this year.
Previous leaks indicated that HyperOS 4 would be a major overhaul, with Xiaomi planning to replace the core components of the current software framework with its own proprietary architecture. However, to ensure an uninterrupted user experience, Xiaomi will retain stock Android services to avoid application compatibility issues.
With only a few months left, the AI smartphone game will enter a new chapter, and Xiaomi is showing that it is ready to be a leader.
