The Vietnam Railway Authority (VRA) has recently submitted a document requesting the People's Committee of Da Nang City to take measures to address and prevent violations by businesses during construction that have seriously encroached upon the protected area of railway bridges, threatening train safety. Previously, on May 17th, the Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company, under the Vietnam Railway Authority, had requested the People's Committee of Da Nang City to take action against businesses that had seriously violated the protected area of railway bridges. Specifically, Trung Thuy Da Nang Joint Stock Company constructed a stone embankment and leveled the ground 25 meters from the outermost edge of the bridge structure on the left side of the railway track (downstream of the bridge), with an embankment length of 50 meters and a height of 3 meters; a high-voltage power pole 50 meters from the outermost edge of the bridge structure; and placed a pile drilling rig 50 meters from the bridge structure.
Therefore, the Vietnam Railway Department requests the People's Committee of Da Nang City to direct local authorities and relevant functional units to implement urgent tasks to ensure railway traffic order and safety, prevent further violations, and ensure the safety of the Nam O railway bridge. The Vietnam Railway Department requests the People's Committee of Da Nang City to promptly direct and require Trung Thuy Da Nang Joint Stock Company to voluntarily dismantle and remove the violating structures, restoring the protected area of the Nam O railway bridge to its original state as a result of the violations. At the same time, it requests increased dissemination of the Railway Law and guiding legal documents, with particular emphasis on disseminating legal regulations on railway traffic order and safety to organizations and individuals in the area to enhance legal understanding and ensure strict compliance.
