Early spring in Pù Lườn

For the first time, the Mong ethnic people in Pu Luon village (Cao Minh commune) were able to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) early right in their village, filled with the colors of spring, laughter, and sharing. The "Warm Spring - Meaningful Tet" program, jointly organized by the Internal Security Department of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, brought a warm and joyful atmosphere to the people in the highlands.

The road to Pu Luon is busier in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) with people from far away coming to visit. On both sides of the road, terraced rice fields hug the hillsides, creating a picture that is both majestic and peaceful.

Pù Lườn has 73 households, 100% of whom are Hmong people. In recent years, the lives of the people have changed significantly, but the Lunar New Year in this remote area still faces many hardships. Therefore, the "Warm Spring - Meaningful Tet 2026" charity program, organized by the Internal Security Department of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police in coordination with Cao Minh commune, has brought the spirit of spring early to this highland village.

Beyond just handing out gifts, the program also brought a complete and warm Tet atmosphere, allowing the people of Pu Luon to celebrate Tet early in their village for the first time.

During the program, the delegation presented 73 Tet gifts , including confectionery, essential goods, household items such as basins, warm blankets, mattresses, and cash, to 73 households in the village .

In addition, 10 households facing particularly difficult circumstances received practical gifts such as rice and folding beds; notably, one household was provided with a breeding cow to create a long-term livelihood, helping the family to improve their living conditions and achieve stability.

Besides caring for households, the program also pays special attention to children in mountainous areas. Hundreds of warm jackets, school bags, bicycles, candies , water filters, and laptops have been donated to schools in Cao Minh commune, helping to motivate students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.

The Tet atmosphere in Pu Luon this year is even more vibrant as, for the first time, New Year's celebrations are being held right in the village. In the area where sticky rice cakes are being wrapped , right in the middle of the village's central courtyard , glowing fires are lit, radiating warmth and dispelling the chill of the highlands.

Along with the Hmong people, police officers and philanthropists rolled up their sleeves and participated in wrapping the rice cakes. Some washed the rice, others cleaned the banana leaves, and still others tied the strings, chatting and laughing as they worked. Laughter and conversation mingled with the fragrant aroma of fresh sticky rice and banana leaves, spreading throughout the village, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere – something many households in Pu Luon had never experienced before during the days leading up to Tet.

After the rice cake wrapping activity, the Tet atmosphere in Pu Luon was further heightened by cultural activities and community events organized for the first time in the village.

In the evening , the village square buzzed with the sounds of flutes and singing in cultural performances presented by the teachers and the Hmong people themselves. Simple folk songs and traditional dances, interspersed with applause and joyful cheers, erased distances and brought happiness to this remote and underprivileged highland region.

As night fell, a blazing bonfire was lit in the middle of the village, illuminating the radiant faces of the villagers, police officers, and philanthropists as they held hands around the warm fire. And for the first time, in the sky above Pù Lườn, clusters of fireworks blazed brightly amidst the mountains and forests, marking an early and joyful Tet holiday, leaving an unforgettable impression on the hearts of every villager .

In parallel with welfare activities, the delegation also organized free health check-ups and consultations for the people; and at the same time, disseminated legal information, raised awareness of law compliance, and maintained security and order at the grassroots level.

Sharing in the joy, Ms. Hoang Thi Denh, who received support in the form of breeding cows, could not hide her emotion because for the villagers, cows are not only assets but also hope for a less arduous future.

As for Giàng Á Dí, upon receiving his New Year's gift, he excitedly shared that he and his fellow villagers had never celebrated such an early, fulfilling, and warm Tet holiday as this year.

Mr. Lau Van Day, Secretary of the Party Branch of Pu Luon village, said: "The attention of the authorities at all levels, the police force, and philanthropists not only helps the people have a more fulfilling Tet holiday, but also gives them more confidence and motivation to work and produce with peace of mind, building a more modernized village."

According to the Organizing Committee, the total value of welfare activities during this event was over 220 million VND . This figure not only reflects material resources but also demonstrates the spirit of sharing, responsibility, and solidarity of the police force and benevolent organizations and individuals towards the people in the mountainous regions.

Today, Pù Lườn is more vibrant with the colors of spring. Spring has arrived early, not only because of the changing seasons, but also because of the warm hearts that have carried warmth across the high mountains to this remote Hmong village . Tet ( Vietnamese New Year) has truly come to life in Pù Lườn – warm, meaningful, and complete.
