Goods exports and imports in April 2025 reached over 74 billion USD.

On May 7th, the Customs Department provided information to the press regarding the unit's work situation in April 2025.

Accordingly, the total value of goods exports and imports in April 2025 reached US$74.31 billion, a decrease of 1.4% (equivalent to a decrease of US$1.06 billion) compared to the previous month. Of this, the value of exports reached US$37.44 billion, a decrease of 2.8% (equivalent to a decrease of US$1.06 billion), and the value of imports reached US$36.87 billion, equivalent to the value of the previous month. Vietnam's trade balance in April 2025 showed a surplus of US$0.57 billion, a decrease of 64.7% compared to the surplus of US$1.64 billion in the previous month.

The total value of goods exports and imports in the first four months of 2025 reached US$276.89 billion, an increase of 15.7% (equivalent to an increase of US$37.51 billion) compared to the same period last year. Of this, the value of exports reached US$140.34 billion, an increase of 13% (equivalent to an increase of US$16.12 billion), and the value of imports reached US$136.55 billion, an increase of 18.6% (equivalent to an increase of US$21.39 billion). Vietnam's trade balance in goods for the first four months of 2025 showed a surplus of US$3.8 billion, a decrease of 58.2% compared to the surplus of US$9.05 billion in the same period last year.

State budget revenue from import and export activities in April 2025 reached VND 39,732 billion, a decrease of 0.6% compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, in the first four months of 2025, revenue reached VND 142,122 billion, equivalent to 34.58% of the allocated budget, an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period in 2024.

Regarding the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, the Customs Department reported that in April 2025, 1,330 cases were detected, seized, and processed, with the estimated value of infringing goods reaching VND 1,867 billion; a decrease of 73 cases (5.2%). State revenue collected reached VND 65.86 billion. The number of criminal cases decreased sharply (no cases were prosecuted, and the number of cases transferred for prosecution decreased from 15 to 12 (20%) compared to the same period).

Cumulatively, in the first four months of 2025 (December 15, 2024 to April 14, 2025), the number of cases detected, apprehended, and processed was 5,206, with the estimated value of infringing goods reaching 10,331 billion VND. Revenue collected for the state budget reached approximately 347.16 billion VND. The number of cases prosecuted was 0; 34 cases were referred for prosecution.

Regarding the results of drug prevention and control efforts, in April 2025 (March 16, 2025 to April 15, 2025), the Customs sector, in coordination with the Police and Border Guard forces, detected and arrested 16 cases/27 individuals, of which the Customs agency led 9 cases; the Police 5 cases, and the Border Guard 2 cases. The seized evidence included 1,517 kg of various types of drugs.

In the first four months of 2025 (December 16, 2024 to April 15, 2025), the Customs sector, in coordination with the Police and Border Guard forces, detected and apprehended 64 cases/74 individuals, including 26 cases led by the Customs agency, 28 cases by the Police, and 10 cases by the Border Guard. The seized evidence included 1,719 kg of various types of narcotics.
