Nguyen Hoang Bao An (4 years old, residing in Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An) is considered the youngest hair donor. “When I learned about the program, I showed him pictures of cancer patients with hair loss and told him to donate his hair. He was very excited,” Bao An’s mother shared. |
Two sisters Nguyen Hoang Gia Thy (10 years old) and Nguyen Hoang Gia Linh (8 years old) traveled nearly 50km from Thanh Chuong district to Vinh city to donate hair. |
Hair donors must have natural hair of at least 25 cm in length. Chemically treated hair, such as permed, straightened, dyed, etc., must be at least 30 cm in length. |
After many years of nurturing and care, Ho Ha Phuong (9 years old, resident of Le Loi ward, Vinh city) donated her long hair to make new hair for cancer patients. |
Hoang Thi Dung Nhi (13 years old) and her mother and younger brother traveled more than 100km from Thanh Hoa province to Nghe An to participate in the program. To donate 25cm of hair, Dung Nhi had to grow it for the past 2 years. "I hope my hair can contribute to creating beautiful, soft wigs to help cancer patients have more confidence in fighting the disease. In the future, if I have the opportunity, I will continue to donate hair," Dung Nhi shared. |

In early 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi My (46 years old, residing in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) discovered she had breast cancer. Although the disease was detected in the early stages and she had only undergone a few rounds of chemotherapy, the woman's long black hair had fallen out. "Before, my hair was very long and beautiful, but due to illness, it all fell out. Since I lost my hair, I have worn hats and scarves all day because I feel self-conscious. For me, the hair I received today is truly meaningful," Ms. My said tearfully. |
