This morning, August 2, Blockchain Technology Week 2025 (GM Vietnam 2025) took place in Hanoi .
The organizers and attendees spent a few minutes in memory of businessman Hoang Nam Tien - member of the founding board ofFPT Corporation, Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University. The list of speakers previously introduced by the organizers included Mr. Hoang Nam Tien.

Before entering the first discussion session with the presentation of FPT Corporation Chairman Truong Gia Binh, the entire hall took a moment to remember Mr. Hoang Nam Tien. On stage, a short clip recreating his passionate image during his lifetime was shown; in the audience, the attendees simultaneously turned on their flashlights as a silent tribute.
On behalf of the organizing committee, Mr. Mai Huy Tuan - General Director of SSI Digital - thanked the attendees and repeated Mr. Hoang Nam Tien's words, hoping that those who bring wisdom and knowledge will live forever in the technology community.

Immediately after the memorial service, FPT Corporation Chairman Truong Gia Binh stepped onto the stage and thanked the organizers and attendees for their love for his "brother and colleague" Hoang Nam Tien.
In his presentation, FPT Chairman shared: Vietnam is a rare country in the world with a high economic growth rate - nearly 8% per year. But more importantly, from 2026 onwards, our country aims for double-digit growth, something not many countries dare to commit to.
Vietnam is following a sustainable development strategy, based on the three biggest global transformation drivers: Digital transformation; green transformation; artificial intelligence (AI) transformation - the core spirit of Resolution 57/2024.

“In the field of information technology, Vietnam has a premise. We used to have no name on the world digital map, but today Vietnam has risen up, overcoming countless challenges to shine in the global digital space. I was moved when hearing Mr. Narayana Murthy - founder of Infosys - say that in the world, there are only a few countries with software service companies with revenue of over 1 billion USD, namely India and Vietnam. Mr. Jensen Huang - CEO of NVIDIA - when talking to us shared that he chose Vietnam as his second home. In fact, just 9 months later, that has become a reality. That is a testament to Vietnam's great position, above all, the belief in the young generation" - Mr. Binh affirmed.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Vietnam has a very special position in the field of blockchain and digital assets, because our country is one of the very few countries that consider blockchain as digital infrastructure and is deeply integrating it into the economy.
“Last year, we made a strategic decision. This year, the Law on Digital Technology Industry was passed by the National Assembly, paving the way for a generation of startups, engineers and blockchain technology creators. In fact, Vietnam has become a dynamic blockchain center in Asia. Crypto transactions reach a scale of 120 billion USD/year; 7 million people own cryptocurrencies; more than 35 million transactions per year” - Mr. Binh said and emphasized that Vietnamese people are sensitive, love technology, and are not afraid of new things, which is an invaluable advantage.
Chairman of FPT Corporation expects Vietnam to soon formalize digital assets, possibly the first crypto exchange, or integrate the entire financial - banking - insurance - retail system with blockchain. “When that happens - I believe there will be an explosive wave, bringing Vietnam on par with the world's leading technology countries,” Mr. Binh predicted.
