At over 10 PM, smoke and flames erupted from a furniture factory spanning approximately 2,000 square meters on Pham Van Sang Street, Xuan Thoi Thuong Commune. The facility was closed at the time, and many nearby residents used small fire extinguishers and water hoses to try and put out the fire, but without success.
The fire engulfed the entire factory, forcing several nearby residents to evacuate for fear of it spreading. Thick black smoke billowed into the residential area. "The fire was accompanied by many loud explosions like bombs, forcing my whole family to flee," said Mr. Hoang, who lives next to the factory.
