The idea of “paper making machine” brought Song Tri Secondary School team to the quarter-finals of “English Window”

Episode 14 of the program "English Window" season 2 brought an exciting competition between two teams from Song Tri Secondary School (Song Tri ward) and Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School (Can Loc commune).

Song Tri Secondary School team includes members: Le Thuy Phuong, Chu Si Phu and Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy. Meanwhile, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School representatives are Mai Ngoc Khanh Chi, Hoang Thi Ngoc Linh and Le Bui Hai Yen.

Right from the first round - "Quick Eyes", the two teams showed good reflexes when they completed 9/10 questions arranging words into meaningful English vocabulary. Song Tri Secondary School won with 25 points, 5 points more than Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School.

Le Thuy Phuong, representing Song Tri Secondary School, presented on the topic "Plastic Pollution".

In the "Quick Mind" competition, the teams took turns demonstrating their presentation skills and critical thinking in English.

Le Thuy Phuong (Song Tri Secondary School) impressed with her coherent presentation on the topic of “Plastic Pollution” and her excellent answer to the judges’ additional question: “If you could create an environmentally friendly product, what would it be?”. Her answer about a machine that produces paper bags and cups and her commitment to participating in environmental protection campaigns helped the team receive a full 30 points from the judges.

Thuy Phuong's excellent presentation and perfect answers to the supplementary questions helped the team receive 3 points of 10 from the judges.

Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School, Le Bui Hai Yen presented on the 3R principle (Reduce - Reuse - Recycle) to protect the environment, helping the team score 28 more points, bringing the total score to 48.

In the final round - "Quick Hands", Song Tri Secondary School continued to maintain its form with 3 correct answers, raising the total score to 85. Meanwhile, the other team did not score any more points.

In the final 40-point mystery crossword question: “In what year was the idea of International Women's Day first proposed?” (answer: 1910), neither team was able to come up with the correct answer.

In the end, Song Tri Secondary School won convincingly with 85 points and officially entered the quarter-finals.
