On April 28, 2023, iQIYI Company sent a document to the Ministry of Information and Communications reporting on its compliance with Vietnamese laws on radio and television. Accordingly, the company has completely removed all non-film content on iQIYI services provided in Vietnam, does not provide pay-TV services, and switches to providing film dissemination services on cyberspace in Vietnam in accordance with the laws on cinema.
However, recently through monitoring work, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information discovered that the iQIYI service repeatedly provided television programs, not complying with regulations on management, provision and use of radio and television services.
During the working session with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, iQIYI Company pledged not to let similar situations happen again and strictly comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law on providing pay TV services on cross-border platforms.
At the same time, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also requires cross-border businesses/platforms providing pay radio and television services in Vietnam to strictly comply with the legal regulations of the Vietnamese Government .
