Yoga - spreading positive values

Báo Thái BìnhBáo Thái Bình29/06/2023

1,200 students participated in the performance on the occasion of International Yoga Day this year, an impressive number showing the attraction and the vibrant practice movement of this art sport in districts and cities in the province. Originating from the distant land of India, Yoga with slow, gentle movements but deeply affecting the body helps practitioners to coordinate harmoniously between mind and body, keeping emotions peaceful and intelligence clear.

Hours of meditation or focusing on controlling breathing will make Yoga practitioners forget all worries and anxieties.

As one of the few male Yoga instructors in the province today, Mr. Pham Hong Duc ( Thai Binh city) always wants to spread and share his health story with everyone. Previously, Mr. Duc had a passion for cycling, but due to frequent back pain, which greatly affected all activities in daily life, he decided to try Yoga. After a period of practice, noticing positive changes in his health, especially controlling back pain, spinal pain, and making his body more flexible, he decided to persevere in practicing and has become a Yoga instructor for more than 4 years, helping many people have more determination to improve their health.

Anh Duc shared: Yoga is not only a job but also a bond that connects my family members. My mother is nearly 80 years old but is always an example for her children and grandchildren about the spirit of persistent Yoga practice. My husband and I are both Yoga instructors, and our children also practice this subject very diligently at fixed times of the day. Currently, we have 2 Yoga training centers in Thai Binh city and opened centers in the districts: Dong Hung, Thai Thuy, Tien Hai. Indeed, Yoga has changed my family's life and opened up opportunities for communication and connection.

Among the 1,200 students participating in the performance, there were many children and teenagers who performed the movements very skillfully with confidence, making an impression on the audience.

As one of the children at this event, Cao Tu Linh, Ky Ba ward (Thai Binh city) excitedly shared: I really like Yoga because practicing this sport, I no longer have a hunchback. I often practice Yoga with my mother in the morning, in the club I participate in there are friends of the same age, there are also elderly men and women, I feel that this sport connects people together. I like meditation and breathing exercises the most because it makes me calm down, focus on relaxing sounds. I hope everyone will practice Yoga more often because this is good for health.

Each student who comes to Yoga has an interesting story about the positive effects of this subject on physical and mental health. Many people believe that practicing Yoga helps improve health, preserve beauty and youth, many others say that practicing makes the mind clear, reduces anxiety, stress, and makes life more beautiful. The number of practitioners and the diversity of ages of students in the clubs show that Yoga is a sport for everyone, regardless of age and gender.

1,200 students in the province participated in the Yoga performance.

As one of the Yoga Clubs that was formed early and has been maintained regularly until now, the Thai Binh City Women's Yoga Club, chaired by Ms. Nguyen Minh Phuong, has been operating for nearly 10 years and currently has about 200 members. Of many different ages and occupations, the regular practice at fixed times of the day has gradually made the sisters become closer.

Ms. Phuong said: In addition to regular practice, women often have collective activities such as celebrating International Women's Day March 8, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, the occasion of celebrating April 30 - May 1... to have the opportunity to exchange, learn and share with each other. In the club, practicing regularly for a long time, the women consider each other as family members, supporting and helping each other. Therefore, meeting and practicing together, everyone feels very peaceful after stressful working hours.

Ms. Pham Hang, Head of Thai Thuy Yoga Club, shared: At the club, there are 3 sessions in the morning, afternoon and evening so that women can come to practice their health. Before coming to Yoga, many people think that this subject is very difficult because the flexible postures require high techniques, but in fact, Yoga has many exercises for each age group. Therefore, everyone can practice. In the club, because there are different age groups, the coach must observe the students to come up with common exercises suitable for everyone. Advanced exercises and flexible techniques are often difficult to apply to Yoga classes with many different age groups, and are often applied in small groups. Hopefully, the movement of physical exercise in general and Yoga practice in particular will spread to the community better and better.

Currently, in the province, about 36% of the population participates in regular sports training. A significant contribution to that number is the Yoga training movement, which has practically improved the physical and mental health of each person, making efforts to carry out the mass movement to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho.
