This morning (August 30), the tropical depression in the northwestern sea of the North East Sea has strengthened into a storm - storm No. 6 (international name: Nongfa). According to forecasts, this afternoon (August 30), storm No. 6 will make landfall in the provinces of Ha Tinh - North Quang Tri.

At 9:00 a.m., the center of the storm was at approximately 17.9 degrees North latitude; 107.9 degrees East longitude, in the sea area of Ha Tinh - Hue City, approximately 165km east of the northern area of Quang Tri . The strongest wind speed: Level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting to level 10. In the next 3 hours, the storm will move westward at a speed of approximately 30km/h.

The storm is forecast to make landfall in the provinces of Ha Tinh and Northern Quang Tri this afternoon, August 30, and gradually weaken into a tropical depression with a level 7 intensity, gusting to level 9.

We recommend that people not be subjective and follow the following instructions and recommendations:

1. Monitor the storm's progress to proactively respond.

2. Stay indoors, in a safe shelter (close doors, stay away from windows, glass areas).

3. Do not go out when the storm is approaching, except in an emergency. If you must go out, bring items such as a flashlight, life jacket, whistle, and phone to contact in case of an incident.

5. Charge your phone and other communication devices in case of a storm causing a power outage; Proactively turn off the power and lock the throttle to minimize the risk of fire and electric shock in dangerous storm conditions.

6. Absolutely do not stay on boats, watchtowers, rafts, or aquaculture areas when a storm hits. Do not return until the storm has passed.

7. Pay attention to the time the storm center enters because there will be about 30 minutes - 1 hour of calm before the wind changes direction and becomes strong again.

8. Beware of rain, floods, and inundation in some low-lying areas, urban areas, and flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas; beware of rising water in coastal areas and river mouths.
