The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province has just launched a 15-day intensive emulation campaign to accelerate the construction progress of component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project.
On August 14th, Mr. Tran Van Lau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, sent a document to relevant departments and agencies regarding the implementation of several tasks following the inspection of key projects (on August 12th). This included checking the progress of Component 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, Phase 1, and the East-West economic development axis road project.
To date, although the projects have not achieved the planned results, the units have proactively devised solutions to compensate for the delays in the coming period.

To accelerate the construction progress of key projects and achieve the target of disbursing over 95% of the annual public investment capital plan, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province instructed Project Management Board 2 to urgently coordinate with the Department of Internal Affairs and relevant units to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on launching a high-intensity emulation campaign "15 days and nights to accelerate the construction progress of component project 4, in celebration of National Day on September 2nd".
Regarding the East-West economic development axis road project, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested that the units and contractors ensure that the road is basically open to traffic by December 31, 2024.
Regarding component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, the head of the Soc Trang provincial government requested the Soc Trang Power Company to coordinate with Project Management Board 2 to review and develop a plan to relocate medium and low voltage power lines to facilitate the construction of bridges in My Xuyen and Tran De districts.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested the contractors to revise the detailed construction schedule, urgently mobilize personnel, equipment, and materials as soon as embankment work begins to accelerate progress, and organize construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams" to compensate for the delays in the past.
Phase 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project has a scale of 4 lanes, with a total investment of VND 44,691 billion from the state budget. The project is divided into 4 component projects and assigned to the People's Committees of the provinces and cities as investors, specifically: Component Project 1, over 57 km long, is invested by An Giang; Component Project 2, over 37 km long, is invested by Can Tho City; Component Project 3, nearly 37 km long, is invested by Hau Giang; Component Project 4, nearly 57 km long, is invested by Soc Trang.
