On January 29, a clip was circulated on social media showing three people riding two large motorbikes with their license plates covered on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway. One of the motorbikes was speeding, encroaching on moving cars, causing traffic safety problems.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, account Dang Nguyen (from Binh Thuan ), the person who posted the above clip, said the incident happened on the evening of January 26.

At that time, he was driving on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway, heading towards Ho Chi Minh City. When he reached the section passing through Ham Tam district (Binh Thuan), he discovered two motorbikes with covered license plates running on the highway, so he used his phone to record them.
"The highway for high-speed cars that these vehicles enter is very dangerous," said account owner Dang Nguyen.
An officer of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Department 8, Traffic Police Department) said he was aware of the incident and was verifying it.
According to this officer, on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway, there are some access roads that have not been put into operation. Many people have taken advantage of the gaps to drive motorbikes and scooters, causing traffic safety problems.
"In the past few days, the unit has also discovered about 3 cases of motorbikes running onto the highway and stopped them, drawing up fines," he said.
According to Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic, the sanctions for drivers of motorbikes, mopeds (including electric motorbikes), motorbike-like vehicles and motorbike-like vehicles violating road traffic rules are prescribed as follows: Fines from 2 to 3 million VND for drivers of motorbikes entering highways, except for vehicles serving the management and maintenance of highways.
