Two options for organizing the V-League promotion play-off match.

VPF has just drawn up two plans for organizing the promotion play-off match between the runner-up of the National First Division and the team ranked 13th in the V-League 2024-2025.

On the afternoon of June 20th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held a meeting with sports journalists from the South to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day.

During this meeting, VPF General Director Nguyen Minh Ngoc announced the important information that the V-League promotion play-off match for the 2024-2025 season will take place on June 27th.

Accordingly, VPF has developed two organizational options before definitively determining the two participating teams. This is because neither the First Division nor the V-League have yet determined these two spots, so they must wait until the final round of matches.

Specifically, Option 1: If a club from Central Vietnam meets a club from Southern Vietnam in the 2024-2025 play-off match, the neutral venue chosen to host the play-off match will be Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).

Option 2: If a club from Central Vietnam meets a club from Northern Vietnam in the 2024-2025 play-off match, the neutral venue chosen for the match will be Vinh Stadium ( Nghe An ).

Accordingly, one of the two clubs competing for the runner-up position in the First Division is Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club in the South and PVF-CAND Club in Hung Yen (North). The Binh Phuoc football representative has 41 points, while their closest rival has 40 points before round 22 on June 21st.

The Central Vietnam club mentioned above is most likely one of three teams from that region: Quy Nhon Binh Dinh, SHB Da Nang, or Quang Nam.

The 2024-2025 season play-off match is sponsored by Savabeco Company. VPF also hired two foreign referees to officiate this match, including one main referee and one VAR referee.

On June 21st, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club will play against Long An Club, while PVF-CAND will face Dong Nai Club. Both matches will take place simultaneously at 4 PM.
