By 12 noon that day, heavy rain was still falling in Nha Trang, causing flooding on many roads and making traffic difficult.
The streets Pham Van Dong, 23rd October, 2nd April, Mai Xuan Thuong, Dang Tat... in the northern part of Nha Trang were all flooded.
At the intersection of Dang Tat - Pham Van Dong and Mai Xuan Thuong - 2 Thang 4 streets, heavy rain caused severe flooding, forcing many vehicles to move onto the sidewalks.
Authorities in Bac Nha Trang ward have blocked off more than 1km of 2nd April Street due to severe flooding. Local security forces have also been mobilized to regulate and reroute traffic and clear drainage ditches.
Ms. Lam Tuyet Mai (a resident of Bac Nha Trang ward), who frequently travels along Pham Van Dong coastal road, said that this road always floods whenever there is heavy rain.
"The rain was so heavy, not only did it flood the roads, but it also affected everyone's businesses," said Ms. Mai.
The Khanh Hoa Meteorological and Hydrological Station reported that a low-pressure area has appeared in the province, causing localized rain, mainly in coastal areas, and this rain will soon end. Rainfall forecast for May 31st is generally between 15 and 30mm, with some areas receiving over 80mm; rainfall on June 1st and 2nd is generally below 10mm.
