The Art for Climate Festival will take place from January 13 to 19, 2025, with the participation of more than 80,000 people, including 200 European billionaires. The billionaires will come to Ha Long by super yacht, according to the Quang Ninh provincial information portal.
According to the organizers, the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay was chosen to host the Art for Climate festival because of its special and highly symbolic location. This place not only has spectacular scenery but also an ecosystem that is threatened by climate change and human pressure.
At the event announcement ceremony on September 16, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said the project is a combination of art and environmental responsibility to raise awareness of protecting the planet, in line with current challenges.
Currently, there are about 4,000-6,000 visitors to Ha Long Bay every day, of which 90% are international visitors. Despite the impact of storm No. 3, most tourism activities on the bay have soon returned to normal.
To attract tourists in the fall and winter, the Ha Long City government has also proactively promoted the maximum efficiency of the tourism and transportation infrastructure system, especially the flow of cruise passengers through the Ha Long International Passenger Port. In addition to tours of the Bay, this group of visitors also enjoys exploring and learning about local culture. This week, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has also begun to survey and identify islands and beaches that serve super-rich guests with the goal of attracting high-quality visitors to the scenic spot.
In the first 9 months of the year, Ha Long City welcomed 9.2 million visitors, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors reached 2.13 million, an increase of 2.3 times over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated at about 20,300 billion VND, an increase of 34% over the same period in 2023.
