The Union of Friendship Organizations of Tra Vinh province in coordination with Tzu Chi organization (Taiwan, China) and the People's Committee of Tra Cu district ( Tra Vinh ) has just organized a program to give Tet gifts to near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the communes of Ngai Xuyen, Tan Son and Ham Giang.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Van Dieu, Vice Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Tra Vinh province; Ms. Tang Thi Tham, Vice Chairman of Tra Cu district People's Committee.

The program awarded 250 gifts, of which 103 households were from Ngai Xuyen commune, 67 households from Tan Son and 80 households from Ham Giang. Each gift was worth 1 million VND, including 500,000 VND in cash, 20 kg of rice and other necessities. The total value of the gifts was 250 million VND, sponsored by the Tzu Chi charity organization.
According to the representative of Tzu Chi organization, from 2015 to present, this organization has carried out many charity support activities in Tra Vinh province such as: giving Tet gifts, supporting medical equipment and supplies, sponsoring poor households, subsidizing tuition fees for students, etc. The total aid budget of Tzu Chi for Tra Vinh province to date has reached nearly 10.7 billion VND. The charity programs implemented by Tzu Chi in the province have brought about many practical results, contributing to actively supporting the improvement of living conditions for local people. In the coming period, Tzu Chi will continue to prioritize support for people in difficult circumstances in remote areas of the province.
