On the evening of August 1, 2025, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the "Fair of OCOP Export Products" (VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025) officially opened. This is a national program on trade promotion chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) coordinated with the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination and the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to organize the implementation.
GATHERING THOUSANDS OF LOCAL PRODUCTS
VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025 is large-scale with 300 booths of more than 200 units displaying thousands of OCOP certified products from 34 provinces and cities across the country, including: tea, coffee, cashew nuts, handicraft products, medicinal herbs, agarwood, essential oils, turmeric starch, agricultural products and processed foods, bird's nest, beauty products such as shampoo, conditioner, serum...
In particular, this year, in addition to the large participation of booths from provinces and cities across the country, the fair also attracted the participation of international booths from countries such as Peru, Laos, Cambodia, etc., and connecting booths of commercial units.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade , said that with the advantages and diverse potential of natural resources, climate and unique culture... Vietnam is not only successful in exporting agricultural products, but is also a country with many specialties, products and traditional craft villages, carrying indigenous cultural values, most clearly demonstrated by the image of Vietnamese OCOP products.
As of July 2025, the country had 17,068 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from 9,195 OCOP entities, of which 126 products were recognized as 5-star OCOP products at the national level. To date, many OCOP products have met quality and food safety standards and regulations; have diverse designs and packaging that are environmentally friendly, suitable for market requirements.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan stated that the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) Program has been playing a key role in affirming the value of rural products, helping products from all over the country not only get closer to domestic consumers but also reach out to international markets.
OCOP products not only have cultural and traditional characteristics but also meet high quality standards, suitable for the needs of domestic and international consumers.
In recent years, the Vietnamese business community has increasingly moved towards developing products according to OCOP standards. This has had a positive impact on rural economic development, contributing to the transformation from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of value chain linkage, according to standards, regulations, traceability and market demand.
At the same time, it stimulates the potential of land, products, comparative advantages, especially regional cultural values to form integrated OCOP products. Many OCOP products are innovated and created to improve quality, access export markets, even to demanding and high-value markets.
Regarding Hanoi city, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, said that Hanoi has currently evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products - the leading locality and accounting for 21.3% of the country. Of which, there are 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products and 1,718 3-star products.
Hanoi City identifies OCOP as not only a rural product, but also a cultural product, a bridge between tradition and modernity, between identity and integration. In the new period, when international economic integration is increasingly deep, OCOP cannot stop at the village scale but must continue to reach out to regional and international markets.
“CONNECTOR” FOR OCOP PRODUCTS
In order for OCOP products to reach foreign markets, according to the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, implementing trade promotion activities to support OCOP entities in connecting trade with international partners and businesses to promote exports is extremely necessary.

VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025 Fair takes place over 3 days to help support Vietnamese enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP entities to introduce and promote products, seek partners, and develop markets, not only domestically but also internationally through opportunities to connect, exchange, and cooperate directly with trade promotion organizations, businesses, and foreign importers.
At the same time, OCOP subjects also have the opportunity to exchange and learn about the strict requirements of the world market and study the possibility of expanding export scale.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that in addition to direct trading activities at the fair, the new feature of this year's fair is that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized the fair on a digital platform with the aim of creating favorable conditions for businesses and international importers to conduct online trading activities.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen hopes that through this fair, Hanoi OCOP entities will find potential partners, sign valuable contracts, access new markets and have more motivation to innovate production thinking.
“The city hopes that businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities will take full advantage of this opportunity to learn, cooperate, promote, and develop. Trade promotion organizations, industry associations, and management agencies need to continue to provide strong support in terms of technology, capital, technology transfer, packaging improvement, traceability, e-commerce promotion, and digital transformation,” Mr. Quyen emphasized, and committed that Hanoi City will always accompany businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities in the journey to elevate Vietnamese products.
