On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 5, at the Hanoi Library (57 Ba Trieu Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi), the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations organized the launching of the International Children's Painting Competition "I love Hanoi - City for Peace " in 2025.
Hanoi is the capital of a thousand years of culture, with a rich heritage and many famous landscapes. Hanoi is also the City of Peace, a bridge for international cultural exchange. There is a large number of foreigners, including thousands of children, living and studying in the city.
The International Children's Painting Contest "I Love Hanoi - City for Peace" creates a useful playground for teenagers and children of the capital and international friends living and studying in Hanoi.
The contest is also a creative art forum for children to express their feelings and dreams of a peaceful, cooperative, developed world and spread progressive humanistic values. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Hanoi - the beloved capital, the creative city, "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" to international friends.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has coordinated with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations to organize the contest as an annual event. In previous editions, the contest has attracted the attention and positive response of thousands of contestants, with the participation of Hanoi students as well as children from other countries living and studying in Hanoi.
The contest has become a bridge connecting friendship, enhancing cultural exchange between Vietnamese children and international children, arousing the sense of responsibility of the young generation in preserving peace, protecting the living environment and building a humane, progressive society for the common future of humanity.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Nam Hai said: The contest is an opportunity for Vietnamese and international children to unleash their creativity and show their artistic talents with the theme of Hanoi - City for Peace, Creative City "Civilized - Cultural - Modern" about love for peace, people, life, beautiful nature, fighting against war, poverty, epidemics...
In previous editions, the winning paintings of the contest have left a good impression on the judges and the public of the capital for their creativity, emotions and positive messages about life, people, nature, love for peace, love for humanity through the innocent and pure perspective of children. Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai expressed his hope that this year's contest will receive an enthusiastic response from children in Hanoi as well as international children.
This year's contestants are Vietnamese and international children aged 6 to 15 who are studying and living in Hanoi. The Organizing Committee will accept entries from August 15 to September 10, 2025.
Vietnamese candidates send their exam papers to the Communication and Event Organization Department - Hanoi Cultural Center and Library (No. 7 Phung Hung, Ha Dong Ward), or No. 47 Ba Trieu, Cua Nam Ward).
International candidates send their entries to the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (City Inter-Agency Area, 258 Vo Chi Cong Street, Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi).
The award ceremony is expected to be held on September 20.
