Many people in Ho Chi Minh City are wondering where they can apply for passports after the merger. Responding to a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, the Immigration Management Department (Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) stated that the Ho Chi Minh City Police currently has three locations for receiving passport applications from residents following the merger.
Following the merger and reorganization of the police forces of three localities: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, and Binh Duong Provincial Police, the Ho Chi Minh City Police now has 213 units with 35 functional departments, 167 commune-level police stations, 1 special zone, and 10 police posts.
On the first day of implementing the two-tiered local government model (provincial and commune levels), on July 1st alone, the Immigration Management Department received over 1,000 applications for passports and nearly 200 applications for visas, extensions of temporary residence permits, or temporary residence cards in Vietnam for foreigners.
Specifically, here are the three addresses for passport application services for residents of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger:
- No. 196 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- No. 239 Ngo Gia Tu Street, Thu Dau Mot Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- No. 120 Pham Hung Street, Ba Ria Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
