4,437 martyrs have unknown graves and identities - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Implementing the announcement of the roadmap for nationwide DNA sample collection by the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, up to now, the Provincial Police have updated 5,673/6,214 martyrs to the national population data system.

There are still 541 cases that have not been updated to the system due to lack of information: file code; date of birth; rank, position, place of sacrifice; original burial place or due to change of permanent residence...

Of the 6,214 martyrs, 1,777 have had their graves identified and 4,437 have had their graves and identities unidentified. Of these, 1,522 have no relatives; 2,915 have had their identities unidentified and have relatives who are subject to DNA sampling, 3,368 cases.

The provincial police coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security to collect DNA samples for 46 relatives of martyrs whose identities had not been determined in the first phase, and 3,322 cases were subject to sample collection in the following phases.
